Lawyer, Politician, and U.S. Circuit Judge. Bryan began practicing law in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1895. The older brother of Florida Senator William James Bryan, he was appointed Senator of Florida in 1911 when the legislature failed to elect a Senator and subsequently won election.
